BACKGROUND

Working remotely with a tight-knit team, the Account Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of Adelaide and regional South Australia based key clients (and other locations as requested), helping build solid relationships, and develop and implement effective marketing initiatives across online and offline channels.


Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, your role will include everything from strategy, client management, brand development, content, reporting, advertising and direct mail to public relations, social media and web development.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent writing, client service and media relations skills

  • 2-4 years of experience in marketing communications/PR preferably in an agency setting

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or Marketing

  • Broad knowledge of marketing communications field with a focus on quality, accountability and reliability

  • Ability to multitask and maintain order with a can-do attitude and commitment to meet deadlines

  • Self-motivated who is energetic, enthusiastic, persistent, creative and motivated to work in a fast-paced team environment remotely

  • Awareness of the value of time and ability to maximise the use of resources

  • Relatable people skills, ability to interact with a wide range of personalities

  • A positive attitude, trustworthy, honest and reliable with a great sense of humour and team attitude

SKILLS

  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Apple and Android

  • Solid video editing skills

  • Basic website development skills (preferably WIX) and other platforms

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including written and oral

  • Strong analytical skills with a goal-oriented attitude

  • Basic graphic design skills (e.g. Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator)

ROLE TASKS

  • Content development, curation, news posts, scheduling and engagement for community management

  • Develop strategic marketing communications and PR plans with clients

  • Manage client social media accounts through regular community management, audience engagement activities and applying responsive crisis control when required

  • Effectively presents agency work/proposals/presentations to clients

  • Directs activity on assigned accounts, keeping clients informed of account direction and maintaining forward momentum on projects

  • Writes press releases, backgrounders, feature articles, brochure and website copy

  • Develop media lists and opportunity calendars

  • Executes media relations, social media, community relations and event planning

  • Remains aware of clients’ brands/products/services/marketing developments – their key issues, competitive situation and industry trends

  • Coordinates project timing and budgets, provides clients with timeline and budget updates

  • Checks and approves creative/production materials, copy, layouts and production art to ensure they are in line with client and agency expectations

  • Leads and participates in client meetings and completes reports for client meetings

  • Provides client reporting and results analysis of key programs and initiatives

  • Tracks agency and vendor costs to help ensure profitability and assists in preparation of client invoices

  • Handles administration tasks associated with account and job functions

  • Actively identifies and develops new business opportunities within existing accounts and support other new business efforts/sales team
