How to conduct an EOFY Marketing Review

Now we're past End Of Financial Year (EOFY), we are doing a six monthly check in with clients and you should too so we've put together a guide on how to conduct an EOFY Marketing Review.


A half year review is crucial to evaluate your marketing goals and determine what has worked so far and what maybe hasn't got the traction you hoped for.


Once you've done this, it's time to reset your marketing goals for 2023/2024 Financial Year.


Here's how to conduct an EOFY Marketing Review:

Step 1: Review your previous goals


What were your goals and objectives you set for yourself?


Look at the goals you set for the previous year and assess whether you achieved them. If you did, congratulations! If you didn't, it's time to figure out what went wrong and how you can improve.


Step 2: Analyse your data


Take a deep dive into your marketing data from the previous year and identify what worked and what didn't. This data can help you make informed decisions about your marketing strategy going forward.


Have a look at your previous monthly marketing reports (we recommend monthly marketing reports to really get a good understanding of your position and to look back across what was conducted each month to better understand any peaks and troughs in your industry and around any campaigns you may have run).


Use a mix of native analytics on your socials and programs like Databox (these are great to set up for live dashboards) and Minter.


Step 3: Identify new opportunities


Consider new marketing channels or tactics that you haven't tried before. This could include digital advertising, influencer marketing, or video marketing.


Step 4: Set realistic goals


Use the information you've gathered to set realistic and achievable marketing goals for the upcoming year. Make sure they align with your overall business objectives.


Step 5: Create an action plan


Once you've set your goals, create an action plan that outlines the steps you'll take to achieve them. This should include timelines, budgets, and responsibilities.


By taking the time to reset your marketing goals after EOFY, you'll be better equipped to achieve success in the upcoming year. Remember to regularly review your progress and adjust your strategy as needed.
