Two cities. Two champions. One incredible fortnight of cricket.

The Century Champions League has just delivered two back-to-back elite tournaments — the NEXT XI U23s in Brisbane, hosted by Northern Suburbs District Cricket Club, and the Century Mackay Seniors at Great Barrier Reef Arena, proudly supported by Mackay Regional Council.

Kicking off in Brisbane on Fri 25th July at the NEXT XI U23s, a big thank you goes to Northern Suburbs DCC committee and Head Curator Jack Flynn (the Perfect Pitch) for the world-class wickets and facilities. The Comets, led by Head Coach Trevor Irvine with assistants Ali De Winter and Tony Judd, went undefeated to claim the title, showcasing exceptional preparation, leadership, and player development.

From there, we headed to Mackay on 1st August for the Century Mackay Seniors at the Great Barrier Reef Arena, where elite facilities once again set the standard. The Coastal Marlins, owned by Dylan Pinkstone, Nick Fitzpatrick, and Joel Hamilton, with Andrew Pearce as GM and Peter Dein as Coach, overcame a slow start to take out the Grand Final. Standouts included Brandon Faber’s explosive 72* (34) and the first-ever Century Mackay hat-trick from PNG International Chaddy Soper (4/31).

These events wouldn’t be possible without our venues, committees, curators, sponsors, match officials, and community partners — your support is building a truly professional short-form cricket platform for Australia’s emerging talent.

A huge thank you to all. We’re only just getting started.
